  • Robert Abbel

    Sr. Scientist at the Holst Center Pi-Scale

    Robert Abbel studied chemistry at the universities of Mainz (Germany) and Toronto (Canada). In 2004, he joined Eindhoven University of Technology (The Netherlands) for his PhD research project on supramolecular chemistry. Since 2009, he is working at Holst Centre, first in the research group “Printed Functional Structures”, and since 2015 in the technology program “Organic Lighting and Signage”. His core activities are technology development for large area coating of functional inks and OLED processing from solution. 

  • Dr. Ho-Kyoon Chung

    Chair Professor Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU)

    Dr. Chung is currently Professor and Director of ITRC Next Generation AMOLED Center of Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU).   He was previously a full-time Advisor and Executive VP for Samsung SMD, which is dedicated to the R&D and manufacturing of AMOLED products and mobile LCD modules. Prior to that, he was the Executive Vice President and CTO of Samsung SDI and head of Samsung SDI Corporate R&D Center from 2006 to 2008. Dr. Chung led the R&D for Active Matrix OLED (AMOLED) since 2000 and is a world leader in bringing the AMOLED technology into the commercial market. Prior experience includes Managing Director of Memory Product Engineering and Manufacturing Technology Center at Samsung Electronics, Semiconductor Business from 1988 to 1999.

    Dr. Chung was decorated with a Silver Order of Industrial Service Merit from the President of Korea in December 2011 for his contribution to the One Trillion Dollar Trade of Korea. In April, 2006, he was also decorated with an Order of Merits for advancing the science and technology of Korea. He received Special Recognition Award from the Society of Information Display, in June 2006, for his outstanding contributions to the development of AMOLED technology. In addition, his work in OLED technology has earned him the Korea Display Industry Grand Prize Award (2001), the Samsung Chairman’s Award In Technical Excellence (2002) for his leadership in developing the company’s 15.1-inch AMOLED, and the “Distinguished Alumni of the Year Award” from the Electrical and Computer Science Alumni Association of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA in September 2008. He received the OLED Leadership Award (2010) for his outstanding leadership in OLED industry as a key contributor in AMOLED technologies. Dr. Chung is a Fellow of the Society for Information Display since June, 2012.

    Dr. Chung received a BS in Electronics Engineering in 1973 from Seoul National University, MS in 1977 from Case Western Reserve University and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 1981 from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

    CEO and Principal Analyst Touch Display Research, Inc.

    Dr. Jennifer K. Colegrove is the CEO and principal analyst of Touch Display Research Inc. (www.TouchDisplayResearch.com), a market research and consulting firm focus on touch screen and emerging display technologies. She writes reports and performs consulting projects on touch screen and display technologies, including touch screens, ITO replacement, Quantum dot, near-eye displays, flexible displays, OLED displays, OLED lighting, e-paper displays, touchless HMI, gesture control, voice control, eye control.

    Before founded Touch Display Research, Dr. Colegrove was the former Vice President at DisplaySearch (acquired by IHS) for over 4 years, and senior analyst at iSuppli (acquired by IHS) for 2 years.

    Prior to that, Colegrove performed due diligence for Intel Capital, the venture capital arm of Intel, as a senior display engineer.

    Dr. Colegrove has been a featured speaker and session chairperson at over 70 conferences world wide.

    Jennifer Kong Colegrove has a Ph.D. from Liquid Crystal Institute at Kent State University in Ohio, Master and Bachelor degree from Beijing University.

  • Siebe van Mensfoort

    co-founder and CEO Simbeyond B.V.,

    Siebe van Mensfoort obtained his PhD in Applied Physics on experiments and modeling of blue polymer-based OLEDs at Philips Research in 2009. Since then, he has worked as Project Manager at Philips Lighting, as Management Consultant at A.T. Kearney and as Business Developer at Prodrive Technologies. He is co-founder and CEO of Simbeyond B.V., a company specialized in molecular-scale software tools for efficiently developing new OLED stacks and materials.

  • Dr. Alexander S. Romanov

    Sr. Post-Doctoral Research Associate, School of Chemistry University of East Anglia

    My research is focused on the design of new functional materials for the solution-processed OLEDs in the group of Prof. Manfred Bochmann at the University of East Anglia, UK. My first postdoc was with Prof. Tatyana Timofeeva (New Mexico Highlands University, USA) working on a collaborative project with Prof. Seth Marder (Georgia Institute of Technology, USA) devoted to n-type doping of organic electronic materials using air-stable organometallics.

  • Michael Törker

    Senior Scientist Fraunhofer Institute for Organic Electron Beam and Plasma Technology FEP

    Michael Törker studied physics at the Technical University of Dresden and received his PhD in 2003. Since 2002 he has been working at the Fraunhofer Institute in Dresden in the field of technology development for Organic Light Emitting Diodes.

  • Dr. June Zhang

    Director of Technology Marketing Kateeva

    Dr. June Zhang joined Kateeva in 2015. As Director of Technology Marketing she leads her team for technical marketing of advanced ink jet printing products and material as applied to flat panel displays and other technologies. Before Kateeva, she has over twenty years of R&D and technology transfer experience in Semiconductor industry at Applied Materials and PV industry at Miasole/Hanergy. She has played various technical and marketing roles in equipment technologies including Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) and Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD). She received B.E. degree from Tsinghua University in China, and Ph.D. degree from University of California, Santa Barbara in Materials Science.
